Shaldon Turner Centre

The Shaldon Village Hall / Turner Centre project is a community-based multi-use building on the site of King George Playing fields overlooking the Teign Estuary.

The building facilitates the wide range of needs of Shaldon Community including changing and support facilities for Shaldon Villa Football Club, a centre for the Shaldon Sea Scouts and water based activities and also helps promotes sport and playing field use. The building will support children’s activities such as cubs, brownies, scouts and guides, an after school club, youth clubs, sporting activities and school related sports.

The low-energy building draws inspiration from Shaldon’s boat building past and offers maximum flexibility to allow a whole host of functions.  The Planning Authority are supporting the scheme and the project is scheduled to start on site in early 2011.
