Won through competitive interview in 2013, RSA have been commissioned by the project client group to develop design proposals for the development of St Michael’s Church in Otterton, East Devon.
The church is rich with period detailing and character and is Grade II* listed which dates back to the Norman period. The proposals include the consolidation of the worship space for a congregation of approximately 100 people and new community functions. These Include: a community shop which provides fresh, locally sourced food and supplies at reasonable prices. A multi-use hall space in the heart of the church, this is a great way to provide the facility to various interest groups, aswell as a way of generating revenue. A meeting room space can be provided that is capable of being closed off from the main hall space.
The project proposals are supported by the Diocese and are scheduled to be submitted for detailed Planning in Spring 2014.
